Power Drop, an international retailer of single-use, recyclable, phone chargers announced that they have rolled out into hundreds of Circle K convenience stores within the west coast region. The majority of stores are within the Southern California area including Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino, and San Diego Counties. Each Power Drop charger packs a 1200 milliamp charge. For the lay person, this means about a 50-60% charge on the average smart phone or about 4 to 5 extra hours of usage. For many of us, this is the perfect solution in times of the dreaded “low battery emergency.” When the user is finished, they simply dispose of in e-waste or a trash can as the battery cell is lithium polymer.
The most positive part of this opportunity is placement within each Circle K. Power Drop chargers are located on the front counter in eyesight of almost every customer. Each store will have two display boxes holding 10 Power Drop chargers in each. Each charger will cost approx. $5.99 for both IPhone and Android Micro-USB chargers. The deal was accomplished in coordination with J&K Distributors, who currently supply Circle K with several other brand name products. J&K expects to continue orders within their convenience store network that expands beyond Circle K. This new agreement immediately increases Power Drop’s output by over 30%. Within the next 6 months, production is expected to increase by over 100%.
Management for Power Drop is actively seeking to expand its retail exposure throughout the US as well with their state of the art vending machines. The Power Drop Vending machine is available to companies and individuals looking to get involved in this business. This small foot print unit can fit virtually anywhere and only requires a normal outlet. It also comes with a 16” LCD screen that can be used for promotions and outside advertising. Power Drop vending units are in airports, malls, universities, and train stations throughout North America.
